Dalle Scientific, LLC

We develop novel antiviral and antifungal biopesticides for protection of honey bees and greenhouse crops.

Our products are completely organic, biodegradable and safe for the honey bees and for the plants and crops.

They are completely free of live organisms.
They contain bacterial metabolites with powerful anti-viral and anti-fungal properties.
Our first product: BeeVirase -
anti-viral agent designed to protect honey bees from viral diseases.

BeeVirase is based on a cell-free supernatant enriched in endonuclease from a proprietary strain of bacterium Serratia marcescens (S. marcescens).

Our purification protocol removes the live bacteria and turns the BeeVirase into a stable product that is also safe for people, bees, and plants.

BeeVirase is being developed in collaboration with Giessen BioEngineering (Kazakhstan).

Giessen has developed the original Serratia endonuclease product and performed its field-based proof-of-concept testing. It was shown to markedly improve the health of bee colonies and increase the honey production.

Our products address a tremendous unmet need in agriculture for safe antiviral solutions to protect pollinators as well as plants and crops.
Honey bees contribute ~$15 billion a year to the U.S. agriculture by improving the harvesting yields and quality of the agricultural products.

Varroa mites are the greatest threat to the health of honey bees as they transmit several viruses which lead to severe diseases.

There are no effective antiviral medicines for honey bees on the market.
Endonuclease from Serratia marcescens has also been successfully applied in greenhouses and demonstrated both antiviral and anti-fungal properties.
